Practically Shining
10 x 8" mixed media collage
Practically Shining is comprised of magazine pages, brochure images, sheet music, recycled collage scraps, tissue paper, thread and vellum, assembled with machine stitching, washi tape and staples. An orderly backdrop of woven strips from Cut Me Up magazine forms the foundation of this self-portrait. I see myself as a responsible, practical optimist, diligently trying to nurture the artist and musician within. Letting go of perfectionism, I strive to allow my emerging creative self to shine.
